Common Scents Hand Made Soaps

Jones Bee Company is proud to carry Common Scents" Hand Made 100% Natural Soaps

Soap is made by mixing an Alkali solution with oil(s). When interacted, the chemical reaction called Specification occurs. The end result turns once greasy oils into soap which cleans you.

Here's how:
The Alkali solution unzips the oil molecule and attaches itself to the fatty acid - turning it into soap and glycerin. Soap is very unusual acting like a snake with two heads. The fatty head hates water and the alkali head loves water. This love/hate relationship with water causes soap to foam.

Is glycerin good for my skin? YOU BET!
Glycerin is in fact more valuable by weight then soap. Milled soaps remove their glycerin by adding salt to their batch. Most glycerin in turn is used as a stabilizer in Food and Cosmetics production, as well as an inhibitor in cigarette paper which allows it to burn more evenly. With glycerin removed the end result is a soap that dries your skin!

What about glycerin clear bars?
This soap base is made transparent by using alcohol, sugars, heat and pressure. Pluses are a high glycerin content and mild pH. The negatives are a bar that dissolves quickly, and often contains artificial colors, fragrances, and alcohol which can dry your skin. Propylene glycol (antifreeze) and diethanolamine (DEA) are also used in many so called glycerin bars. Not our idea of natural!

What is the alternative?
We recommend handmade or "poured" soaps. These traditional poured and cured processed soaps last nearly twice as long as most mass market bars. Mixed in small batches and poured into molds. The end result is a premium bath and body bar that is mild enough for the most sensitive of skins. Many sufferers of Dermatitis, Eczema, Psoriasis, and Chemotherapy can find relief from these types of soaps.

Pay attention to the labels on the products you buy - Often times you'll see "Tallow" or "sodium tallowate" listed in the ingredients on other soaps... that means they're using animal fat!

If they list "perfume" in their ingredients (on anything - not just soap) it means they're using synthetics. We use only pure & natural essential oils to give our products their aroma.

No artificial preservatives
No rendered animal fat
No detergents
No petroleum products
No cheap hydrogenated oils

Just earth's finest skin-loving ingredients....created naturally!
